John
Carmack as a co-founder, owner and lead programmer of id Software, Inc.
he was one of the orginal line-up, leaving Softdisk Publishing in 1991
to form id. John is a self-taught 3D guru, and is responsible for
the now classic Wolfenstein, the Doom first-person 3D engine, Quake 3D
engine and now the new Quake2 technology that created a whole new gaming
genre and led to countless imitations, none of which comes even close to
the exhilaration and originality of the id creations. |
